Aeonium Succulent Cuttings – Green or Purple/Black – Various Sizes

Price range: $14.99 through $49.99

Aeonium succulents are stunning, rosette-form plants known for their striking structure and rich coloration. Cuttings are selected from healthy, established plants and are ready to begin rooting at home.

Succulents require very little care and can be grown indoors or outdoors (if the temperatures don’t go too much below freezing). Succulents do not need to start with roots. They propagate in nature by breaking off from the mother plant and developing roots while laying on top of soil. Each cutting can develop into a full plant with minimal care—making them an easy and sustainable way to grow beautiful succulents.

Description

Why choose Aeonium Succulents?

Grown under the California sun in natural conditions on our chemical-free farm Zava Ranch, dramatic Purple/Black or Green Aeonium Succulents are living sculptures—defined by velvety, ranging from green or near-black rosettes that deepen in color with light and time. Each Aeonium Succulent cutting will develop a naturally branching form, creating height, movement, and a refined presence.

Glossy Aeonium rosette sits atop slender, branching stem, creating a dramatic, tree-like form that adds architectural interest to any space.

Aeonium succulents are ideal for containers, patios, and drought-tolerant landscapes. This low-maintenance plant thrives in coastal and Mediterranean climates (or indoors :)). Its color intensifies in full sun, delivering rich contrast against other succulents or light-toned planters.

A versatile and visually dramatic addition to any garden or arrangement, the Aeonium Succulents bring year-round interest with minimal effort.

Succulent Care & Natural Propagation

Succulents do not need to begin as rooted plants in soil to grow. In nature, they reproduce when leaves or stems break off and fall to the ground, where they naturally form roots and develop into new plants. Growing succulents from cuttings, rather than starting with fully rooted plants, is a more sustainable approach. It reduces waste, preserves mature plants, and supports natural growth cycles.

To Root Succulent Cuttings

Allow cuttings to dry for several days until the end forms a callous. Place on well-draining soil and mist lightly every few days. Roots typically form within 1–3 weeks.

After Roots Form

Gently place the cutting into soil, covering the roots lightly. Water sparingly—only when the soil is completely dry. Provide bright, indirect light and allow the plant to establish. New growth will appear as the plant matures. Avoid overwatering, as young roots are sensitive.

Timeline of Rooting Succulent Cuttings:

Days 1–5

  • Allow callouses to form
  • No roots yet

Week 1–2

  • First fine roots may start
  • Often not visible yet

Week 2–3

  • Visible roots develop
  • Cutting begins to anchor

Week 3–6

  • Stronger root system
  • Ready for light watering and growth

Why buy succulents from Zava Ranch?

Zava Ranch succulents are not mass-produced or grown in a commercial warehouse with chemical inputs —  they come from a real California ranch landscape and are part of our chemical-free, organic, veganic orchard ecosystem, where they thrive alongside citrus, avocados, herbs, lavender, roses, geraniums, agave and many drought-tolerant plants.

Our ranch’s language is about natural farming: working with nature, refining, and letting the land show what grows well here. Our succulents are grown in the dry air, coastal influence, limited water, and real garden conditions.

Each Zava Ranch succulent reflects the land, the climate, and a slower, more natural way of cultivation.
